CEODE Representatives Participated in the Landsat Technical Working Group-18

LTWG-18 (Landsat Technical Working Group) was held in Maspalomas, Spain from February 9–13, 2009. The meeting was organized by the USGS along with their NASA partner and was hosted by the European Space Agency (ESA) and Spanish Space Agency Instituto Nacional de Técnica Aeroespacial (INTA).

On behalf of CEODE, the Director Assistant, Prof. Li An, and the Director of Section of Data Management, Prof. Liu Shibin, attended LTWG-18.  Other participants came from 9 countries or organizations, including members of the USGS Landsat and international ground stations.

A wide range of technical topics was discussed in the conference, including status updates for the Landsat-5 and Landsat-7 missions, the Landsat Project’s web-enabled product distribution, the Global Land Survey 2005 (GLS2005) and 2010 (GLS2010) Projects, the Landsat Global Archive Consolidation (LGAC) initiative, and Landsat Data Continuity Mission (LDCM) as a primary topic of discussion.

In the CEODE’s presentation, Prof. Li An reported the updates and future plans of CEODE, and invited all participants for the 6th International Symposium on Digital Earth (September 9-12, 2009 in Beijing).
