Secretary-General of the International Society for Digital Earth (ISDE) Guo Huadong delivered an opening remark on the topic of "Digital Earth: Key to Digitalizaion" at the 7th Digital China Development Forum (DCDF) convened on December 11-12 in Beijing.
Over 500 scholars, governors, entrepreneurs and managers in the field of remote sensing, digital earth and geographic information system were present at the forum.
Jointly hosted by ISDE and Peking University, the forum, with the theme of "The Internet of Things and Spatial Information Sharing, Service and Innovation", held four specific sub-forums: "Digital Earth and the Internet of Things Application", "Spatial Information Sharing, Service and Innovation", "Digital Campus" and "Digital City".
In the context of the information age when data had become the "engine of innovation", digital earth played a crucial role in the construction and development of digital China, Guo said.
As a leader and promoter in digital earth, ISDE has held six digital earth symposiums and three summits on the international arena. ISDE would further innovate, actively improve and extensively enrich the concept of digital earth on one hand, and develop key technologies, make unremitting efforts on international exchanges and cooperation and constantly promote the application and services of digital earth on the other, Guo added.

ISDE attended the forum
