A major earthquake measuring 8.0 Richter Scale took place in Wenchuan County of Sichuan Province at 14:28:04 on 12 May, 2008. During its rescue and relief operation, CEODE took rapid action to construct “an eye in the sky” by taking advantage of its airborne and spaceborne remote sensing technology and ground stations.
Atlas of Remote Sensing of the Wenchuan Earthquake

Vol.02(12-2008)
CEODE is currently undertaking two national scientific projects by taking advantage of its major scientific facilities, including the Remote-sensing Satellite Ground Station and remote-sensing aircraft, which are recognized for their irreplaceable contributions to the development of China's Earth Observation System.
Vol.01(03-2009)
In 2009, they took advantage of their facilities and expertise to conduct dynamic monitoring on the draughts in north China, the landslide in YaluzangbuYarlung Zangbo River Valley and the bushfireforest fire in Australia, offering an important help to concerned departments.
Vol.02(06-2009)
