Being a member of LANDSAT Ground Station Operations Working Group, the Remote Sensing Satellite Ground Station boasts one of the stations in the world that receive and process dada from the largest number of satellites, in the meanwhile it ranks the world's top four in terms of data receiving and distribution capacities.
Thanks to its competencies in data reception, processing and related product development in a high-quality and efficient manner from more than 10 international satellites, as well as its capabilities of data reception from a few homemade satellites, CBERS-02B、HJ-1A、HJ-1B for instance, the Station is playing a vanguard and exemplary role in the construction of a national system of such stations. With 2,300,000 scenes of satellite data on file, it is regarded as the largest Earth observation satellite data archive in China, contributing greatly to the preservation and documentation of valuable spatial information for this country.
The Center has fulfilled a great deal of accomplishments throughout 2008, including the satellite data reception of 7604 tracks, the completion of various quick view processing and data injection with a total of 46357 tracks, and the implementation of data pre-processing order of 14628 lists. Supported by the National Scientific Projects, the competencies of the Remote Sensing Ground Station have reached a new stage based upon the technical renovation of a 10m receiving system and its channel resource integration, the setup of an offsite backup and disaster tolerant system so as to realize the safe storage, cross indexing, dynamic backup and rapid recovery, etc. |
