On September 10, 2010, a delegation led by Ms. Gretchen Kalonji, Assistant Director-General for the Natural Sciences of UNESCO, paid a visit to the International Center on Space Technologies for Natural and Cultural Heritage under the auspices of UNESCO (WHIST) located in CEODE.

Prof. Guo Huadong, Director-General of CEODE, presented a warm and courteous welcome to the visitors. In his briefing on WHIST, Prof. Guo introduced its background, functions, overall objectives and the progress achieved so far in the scientific projects.

Ms. Kalonji offered her heartiest congratulations on WHIST's achievements and spoke highly of CEODE's scientific resources and technical capabilities. She also pledged to step up cooperation with WHIST and CEODE based on mutual benefits.

The two parties exchanged their views on WHIST's S&T development in the long run. It is expected that the meeting will lay a solid foundation for further cooperation in the global change, natural disasters reduction and digital heritage.
