Dr.Zhang Bing is the Deputy Director of the Center for Earth Observation and Digital Earth, CAS. He specializes in Hyperspectral Remote Sensing and has more than 14 years of experience in studying and graduate education in this field. His study interests include development of physics-based models and image processing software for the use of hyperspectral remote sensing data in solving problems in geology, hydrology, ecology and botany.

It is remarkable that the innovative research and research-based development projects undertaken by Zhang Bing have made such a profound contribution to the field of Remote Sensing that he has been awarded a great deal of sound prizes as National, Ministerial and Provincial S&T progress Award and the like.
